9Yrs, ADHD & Dyslexia

Our daughter was struggling with primary school and school work until she would have constant meltdowns. It was getting to a point of exasperation because these episodes were getting more frequent.

After 6 months of therapy, we have seen major improvements and she’s much calmer when facing stressful schoolwork. Teachers have given feedback that she’s much easier to handle and more willing to listen.

My 2 year old son has been taking therapy sessions at this centre for over a year to address his global developmental delay.

Therapist Grace attends to my son and the sessions include a combination of massage, posture corrections, exercises, oral stimulation for chewing/speech etc.

We've seen tremendous improvement with his strength and ability to perform various tasks like pulling, pushing, sitting etc. which he was initially struggling.

My son was diagnosed with Global Development Delay since he was 3 years old. I got to know Assumption Learning in 2021 when my son was about 10 years old.

Prior to coming here, he had a lot of struggles with his motor skills such as walking, poor balancing issues affected his stamina where he will need to rest in between. He also had difficulty buttoning his own shirt and taking care of his own basic needs etc.

His speech was also a major issue where we couldn’t understand at all. With all the various different programs, particularly after the face massage, his speech improved.

After more than a year of interventions with Agnes, I can see great improvement in him compared to all his previous years of therapies. Thanks to Agnes & her team.

18Yrs, Psychosis

Assumption learning has made me improve my motor skills, relax my muscles, the right diet and lastly taught me what is a second home being like :) It has a lower fee than anywhere else in Singapore with amazing results.

Teacher Grace, my therapist, helps me to do massages and guides me on exercises moves. She's always supporting me, giving me encouragement to complete them. She helps me get through each exercise.

Hope we are able to be close friends in future :D So I'm able to share more homemade foods that I make.

9Yrs, SPD & Dyslexia

My daughter had attended intervention classes for kid on autistic and speech therapy around 4 years old. But when preparing for Primary 1, her tutor recommended assumption learning as she may not be able to cope with P1.

Thanks to her recommendation, my daughter had improved tremendously. The difference can be seen clearly, my daughter has improved much more under Assumption Learning’s programmes as compared to the previous therapies.

We ascertained that my daughter is not autistic as previously diagnosed by another therapist. She had a sensory processing disorder. Agnes and her team will assess and tackle each problem with different music treatments and gym sessions.

I am satisfied with the improvement seen.

9Yrs, GDD

Three years ago , I chanced upon Assumption Learning through a mummy group.

My child used to struggle to sit down for long, unable to focus in her work and has sensory disorder back then. She used to melt down regularly. After attending the therapy classes of massage, gym, music, eye therapy and cognitive sessions, she has shown tremendous improvement and we witness her becoming more joyful.

She also started to read, write and copy which we couldn't get her to do it despite us teaching her all these years. Thanks to the gym and eye therapy that Agnes and her team put her through.

Despite all the challenges she has, Agnes and her team never gave up on her. They persistently worked through with her over the years. Her memory improved; she's more confident now, emotionally more regulated and her speech and communication also improved.

The program and therapy classes Agnes planned caters to my child's needs. We were excited to see the transformation of our child holistically as a whole not just in her speech and communication but also in her behaviour and functionality. The area we adored most was we saw Agnes and her team constantly reviewing her progress and changing her therapy treatment plan and programs according to her condition.

We wish we had sent her here earlier. We are grateful that we found Agnes and her team.

8Yrs, Medicated ADHD

I have a 8 year old son that is diagnosed with moderate to severe ADHD. He has issues regulating his emotion and always hit his younger sister, teachers and friends despite being on ADHD medication. He is always angry and violent and has low appetite arising from the side effect of ADHD medicines.

After visiting Assumption Learning (which is our fifth therapist) on 29th Feb 2024, we saw a remarkable improvement in him by end Apr after his 2nd cycle of music therapy. He was happier, calmer, complies and has a much better appetite.

The entire household was more harmonious with noticeably less negative feedback from the school and he plays more gently with his sister. Assumption Learning provides us a holistic therapy for my son and focuses not on behavior therapy but also on his overall mental and physical wellbeing by clearing his sensory blockage through massaging and recommends a series of supplement to regulate his emotion.

Agnes also brushes up my parenting skills and answers my questions timely. Agnes also noticed that the ADHD medicine has resulted in eye tic issues for my son and with her help, we managed to reduce the ADHD medicines from 15mg to 10mg and with massage and better metabolism, he no longer has eye tics.

What I like about Assumption Learning is that all the kids and therapists are in the same room so it is very transparent on what kind of massage and gym work that is rendered to the kids. It is a conducive environment for both parents and kids to learn and live with special needs conditions.

I am glad that I decide to engage Agnes and her team as my son’s therapist. We are able to lead a more normal family life and we envisage to eventually drop him off any ADHD medicines with Agnes’ help.

Agnes is very detailed in her explanation and we look forward to see our girl continue to improve and overcome the challenges she faces over time.

My son has been taking therapy sessions with Assumption learning from the last 1.5 years and we can see a remarkable improvement in him with respect to his awareness of surroundings.

He is much more communicative and independent now. Agnes identified the areas where my son was lagging and addressed them. Many thanks to Agnes, Grace and the team for their continuous efforts and guidance.

5Yrs, Sensory Trauma

My child had daily meltdowns and would misinterpret the intentions of others. We sought help from various areas - psychologists, speech therapists etc, but he was not improving.

We got to know Assumption Learning through a friend's recommendation and learned that my child had a sensory processing disorder.

The massages and activities during the therapy sessions helped to calm his senses down and we were able to discipline him better. My child still has issues interpreting the intentions of others, but I can see his improvement under Assumption Learning.

Thank you Teacher Grace and Teacher Agnes, for the advice and patience towards my child. Recommended.

9Yrs, ASD

We witnessed significant improvements in our child after he attended therapies in this centre. We were also given guidance by Ms Agnes to help our child heal and improve via other modes apart from attending therapy sessions in the centre.

Ms Agnes had also identified certain underlying issues our child had all along which we were not capable of noticing. Upon knowing those issues, Ms Agnes implemented targeted therapies to rectify them for my child.

Thank you Ms Agnes and your team so much!

3 & 6Yrs, ASD

We brought our two kids (then 18 months and 4.5 years old) to Assumption Learning. Prior to this, my daughter has been attending speech therapy and classroom based early intervention programs for 2 years.

Agnes and her team adopted a holistic approach in understanding my children's needs. Notes are taken for each session and constant reviews are done. "Homework" are also given to parents to work with the child at home.

I could see a lot of progress in my children. Especially so for my daughter as compared with her other therapies.

Thank you Assumption Learning for nurturing my children!

6Yrs, Dev. Delay

Brought my child for assessment when he was 20 months old as the doctor suspected my child to have 'autism'. We let Therapist Agnes assess our child and found out my child had 'severe autism'. While we are coming in terms with his 'diagnosis', we decided to sign up for his therapy.

After months of therapy sessions, we saw significant progress. He was able to look at us when we called him. No more tiptoeing when walking or running. No more running in circles and looking at turning wheels of toy car. And no more banging his head against the concrete floor or wall.

As he grew, we faced different stages of problems with him and Therapist Agnes was able to guide us on how to handle him. Not only that, she also able to give us a heads up what's going to expect from him (cognitive issues, learning disabilities).

Therapist Agnes understands the point of view of special needs and is ready to share in detail on how children feel and how to help them as parents.

Thank you Agnes and her team for helping our child.

11Yrs, ASD & OCD

Speech and functional communication has always been one of our utmost concerns for our boy. Despite having attended speech therapy sessions for past years, we saw slow progress in our boy.

In July 2023, we came to know of Agnes and her learning centre through a friend. After understanding our boy's condition and how we would like her to help our boy beyond identifying his struggles, Agnes started our boy on the gym sensory training that incorporates massage to address the sensory issues.

With the massage, our boy experiences the release of his body tension and stiffness; relaxes the nerves, and calms the senses. His stimming has since reduced, and he is more alert yet calm nowadays.

With the gym training, our boy's motor movements improved with the adjustment of his body alignment. The sensory integration becomes visibly reflected in his behaviour.

Agnes always ensures we parents are updated as she constantly goes through the deliverables of the training and activities. She even selflessly teaches us so that we can continue to work with our boy at home. Agnes went the extra mile to be a friend with our family and not just our boy's therapist. She shows concern toward our boy's and our well-being at all times.

Agnes next introduced the music therapy that intends to help our boy release all his stimming and tightness, thus achieving sensory integration and speech. We are progressively seeing results in his speech.

Agnes is responsive as she always makes it a point to explain any doubts or questions we have. The recent parents' workshop hosted and conducted by Agnes is another platform that she used it to share and impart her knowledge/expertise with the parents. A holistic approach that Agnes adopts, which surely aids in closing any gaps that may arise.

We are thankful to Agnes and her team (Tr Grace, Tr Olivia, Tr Sherry) for the unwavering commitment and efforts in helping our boy. Also, to thank this friend of mine who had recommended Agnes to us.

Like some other parents, we wish we could have started with Agnes earlier. But yes, it is never too late as long as we know we will achieve positive outcomes for our boy under the care and nurturing of Agnes and her team.

Very glad to have found the team at Assumption Learning who are passionate in helping children overcome learning difficulties.

I appreciate how Agnes and her warm team of therapists take a holistic approach to understand my child's needs, as well as giving practical advices on keeping him emotionally balanced.

My child has made a lot of progress under their programmes such as brain training and music therapy, compared to our previous Occupational Therapists.

I only wish I had sent my child here earlier. Highly recommended!

I am very happy that i found Assumption Learning. I realised my child's emotions were unstable, there were regular melt downs and there were a lot of behavioural issues. He had a lot of diet issues, not eating well. He was also not able to focus in his studies.

After attending the therapy classes, we witnessed a lot of improvement in his behaviours.

My child is able to learn and concentrate on his studies much better than before. He has started to chew and eat well now with the oral therapy that Ms Agnes has introduced.

The program and therapy classes Agnes plans caters to my child’s needs. I am very happy to see the improvement in my child.

Very spacious, and friendly staff. Therapists are experienced and understands my daughter's needs. I saw great improvement in my daughter's behaviour and motor skills after attending the therapy.

After her 1st massage, she is less sensitive to sounds. Beside that, my girl's behavioural issues has improved a lot, getting more sensible and aware.

Teacher Grace has been very patient and supportive, and she is a lovely person and my daughter loves her so much.

19Yrs, Schizophrenia

I observed significant changes ever since my daughter started her sessions in Assumption Learning.

After her 1st massage, she is less sensitive to sounds. After 2 to 3 sessions, her physical stamina improved and she could start taking various public transport for about 1 hour and can cope without feeling confused and anxious.

Her chinese medical and hospital doctor mentioned her sensory and emotions had significant improvement. She also became more energetic. Her irritable bowel syndrome also improved after an implementation of diet changes. Her facial blood circulation improved a lot as well.

Teacher Grace has been very patient and supportive. She is able to understand my daughter’s situation and needs, and she will adjust the activities in accordance to her needs and ability.

I was referred to Assumption Learning via Facebook Parents Support Group and I got in contact with Therapist Agnes who is truly very experience.

I have full trust and confidence in her since my son started his therapy journey in April. During the past 5 months, my son has really improved.

No more turning in circles, no more flapping of hands. We witness him now started taking initiatives to engage socially with his peers as well as wanting us to play with him.

I’m very happy to see the joy and smile in my son and his consistent eye contact with us too.

We are very grateful to Agnes and her team for helping our son.

Previously, my son had quite a lot of melt downs & tantrums. After a few months of treatment/training, my son’s condition has improved a lot.

No more melt downs or tantrums. His environmental awareness increased. School Teacher feedbacked he is more instructional and compliant. His speech has improved tremendously.

He used to not be able to talk. Now he’s able to say a lot of words & able to tell us what he wants or doesn’t want.

From playing alone with himself at a corner, till now he is able to open up and play with other kids. His social skills improved, he is able to do role play with other children.

Thanks and keep up the good work for both Teacher Grace and Agnes. Thank you for all the effort you have given to my son in supporting his speech training and a helping him to progress in his developmental milestone.

Overall, I see a very holistic growth in my son.

For those people reading this review, please feel free to get in touch with Agnes and listen to what she can help with and also tailor to your needs.

Lastly, we were grateful that we made the right choice!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Simply WhatsApp us at +65 96995206.
We are open Monday to Friday 10am to 7pm, and Saturday 10am to 5pm.

  • Our Therapists will assess your child and make the recommendations accordingly. We can tailor the session frequency to your child's needs and/or other considerations.

  • Please WhatsApp us at +65 96995206 for the most updated session charges.

  • The process starts with an assessment and consultation. Assessment may consist of 4 Components:

An online form to fill up prior to the first session, behavioural observations of your child, direct/indirect testing of your child’s Nervous System, a personalised Sensory Profile map of your child.

This will take between 1.5 to 2hrs. Following this process, our Therapists will share the results of the assessment and design a therapeutic treatment in accordance to your child’s developmental needs, concerns and the assessment findings.

Following the assessment, intervention will target therapy goals and work within a set time frame.

  • Every child is different, however there are 2 areas that are very critical:

First – Early Intervention is key! Especially for children below the age of 3 years old. 3 years old is the very first development that lays the foundation for future learning, social interactions, and overall well-being. It marks significant advancements in various areas of a child's growth and development. These milestones provide important indicators of a child's progress. Hence, the rate of progress will be a lot faster when the child is younger.

Second – Parent involvement is key. Practice the therapy techniques at home consistently and routinely.
